BIOGRAPHY

Born in Pistoia (Italy) on October 13, 1942.
University degree: Agricultural Sciences degree.
Full Professor of Agricultural Entomology at University of Tuscia, Viterbo (from November 2009 retired). From 1983 to 1989, Director of the Plant Protection Institute of Tuscia University. From 1990 to 1995, Director of the Plant Protection Department of Tuscia University. In 1977 and 1980 Professor of Agricultural Entomology at the National University of Somalia. From 1984 and 1986 and from 1992 to 1996, Professor of Agricultural Entomology at the University Eduardo Mondlane, Maputo (Mozambique). From 2001 to 2012, Professor of Agricultural Entomology at the Catholic University of Mozambique, Cuamba.
Scientific interests: from 1968 to 1981, Systematics of Palaearctic Dryopidae and Elmidae (Coleoptera); biology and control of insects pests of Rice in Italy. Since 1970, Systematics and biology of world Dryinidae, Embolemidae and Sclerogibbidae (Hymenoptera). Principal investigator of cooperation projects in the following countries: China (Hangzhou: 1987; Guangzhou: 1990-2012), Chile (1992), Mexico (2003-2004), Argentina (1996, 2006, 2007), Burkina Faso (2007-2008), Ecuador (2007, 2009), Vietnam (2009), El Salvador (2010-2011). Author of more than 500 papers.
