Born in Rovereto (Trento) October, 8, 1953, degree in Forestry Sciences, University of Padua (1977). Forestry officer of the “Provincia Autonoma di Trento”, “Regione Veneto”, Colonel of the National Forest Service and General of the “Carabinieri”. He founded and directed from 2007 to 2019 the National Biodiversity Center “Bosco Fontana” (Mantua / Verona). Retired in the 2019.
Main scientific interests:
Conservation of saproxylic insects,dynamics in the European planitial forest, taxonomy of the Diptera Statiomyidae (Palearctic and Afrotropical Region).
Awards and recognitions:
Member of the National Academy of Forestry Sciences and Member of the Academy of Agriculture Sciences and Letters of Verona.
