Born in Piacenza on November 17th, 1942.
Member of the Italian National Academy of Entomology from 1999. Secretary from 2007 to 2019.
Full professor in Agricultural Entomology at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Piacenza campus, from November 1997 till November 2013. He retired in November 2013.
Master of Science in Agricultural Sciences in 1966 at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Piacenza campus.
He has carried out research in: a) integrated plant protection of agricultural crops; b) foodstuffs protections from insect pests.
He carried out researches on the application of different insect catch devices in mills.
- From 1994 to 2004 Convenor of the Working Group “Integrated Plant Protection in Stone fruit” of the International Organization for Biological and Integrated Control of Noxious Animals and Plants, West Paleartic Regional Section (IOBC/wprs).
- Member of the Advisory Committee for Phytosanitary Products at the Italian Ministry of Health from 1995 to 2005.
- President of the Italian Association for the Protection of Plants (A.I.P.P.) from 2005 till 2010.
- Member of the Georgofili’s Academy since 2006.
